Certificates

You are responsible for requesting a certificate from the department coordinator upon completion of the requirements. To request your certificate:

  • You must have applied and received approval for course exemptions or PLAR credits. Course exemptions and PLAR credits are not to be used to meet more than half (50 percent) of the certificate requirements. Some certificates may have different percentages noted.  Apply for course exemptions
  • Your request for a certificate must be in writing. Complete the Certificate Request, available at Student Service Centres and on the website. You can also send a letter or email that includes your student ID number, along with your birth date, full legal name and correct address, home and work phone numbers, your email address and the name of your completed certificate. You must sign this letter or email as well. Please note that certificates will only be issued with the exact name in your student record.
  • Be sure that your request is submitted to the correct department (refer to Department Requirements and Contact Information).

The coordinator is charged with ensuring that you have met certificate requirements by reviewing your student records. You will be called or emailed if any issues exist with your request. Allow four to six weeks processing time.
